No password. After checkout you are signed in and shown an access key. Sign in later with that key or with a one-time link sent to the email you paid with.

Yes, any time from the billing page in your account. Upgrades apply right away. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and you keep your minutes until then.
